Decades have passed since the clans first moved to the lake and everything seems peaceful. The clans are getting along and the land around the lake is flourishing. The cats of the dark forest have been forgotten by the clans, but they haven't forgotten the clans.

With a new clan long forgotten by the others surfacing, times will become fragile once again as the cats of the dark forest take the ancestors of The Forgotten hostage, making the new clan do their bidding, forcing them to fight with Bloodclan against the clans. With the help of Bloodclan, the cats of the Dark Forest plan to tear apart the clans from the inside out, turning warrior against warrior, deputy against the leader, and even kits against their mothers.

With a new heartless leader in Bloodclan, the once seemingly harmless clan has entered the nightmares of all the clan cats as they are hunted on their own territory. Spies have infiltrated the clans, turning clanmates against each other. But they are good at their job and no cat knows who they are, for they were placed there at a young age and are seemingly part of the clans.

And now even the cats within the camp aren't safe, for these spies are being trained by the Dark Forest in their dreams to be used as assassins. With no marks or evidence cats go to sleep and never wake, throwing the clans into a panic as they have no idea why these cats are dying.

When the clans need to be at their strongest they are at their most vulnerable. They are unprepared for the Dark Forest's assault and while the clans fight for survival the Forgotten fight to rescue their ancestors from the dark grips of the Dark Forest.

Not only do the clans fight. Their ancestors fight for the clans from the skies, taking on the Dark Forest and trying to rescue the Spirit Warriors. But will their strength be enough to turn the tides of war?
