Oakstar laughed at the little cat and smiled gently tilting his head to the side. She was shaking with excitement as he stood. "The borders are an important key to any good warrior. A Warrior checks a border at least four times a moon, depending on the season and the other clans." He looked to the sky and prayed to starclan nothing would happen between his clan and another. That was the last thing the tom needed. The loss of any warrior could be bad on many levels. "If we don't check the borders, its almost as if we are telling the other clans that they can come into our territory." his eyes squinted lightly and he felt the wind across his back. "And no clan is to be here but us." He may be a sweet cat, but any threat to his clan and someone was going to yowl.
He pushed the bloddied rabbit in the direction of the apprentice, "Are you sure you want to carry it?" Before she could answer the kit had it stuffed in her mouth. it was astounding. "Alright. Lets go" He padded gently with the red necked animal limply between his jaws. He watched the Dewpaw from the corner of his eyes and she glowed with pride in herself. He was just as surprised as she was. "Who do you want to give it to?" he murmured around his rabbit, a technique that all warriors learned at some time.

Dewpaw was sure to listen to everything her mentor had to tell her. She slow dragged her limp rabbit. She tried to talk to Oakstar with her rabbit in her mouth. As she did she found that all she could do was choke on all of the fur. How did Oakstar talk with his rabbit in his mouth. Dewpaw thought as she set down the rabbit. "I'm thinking about giving it to one of the elders. I don't know what one yet, I'm sure any of them would be happy to get it." She picked her heavy rabbit back up. Her mouth was starting to get tired from the load. She was determined not to let Oakstar see she was getting tired though. She slowly started to pick up her pace, trying her hardest to keep up with the leader.
If I let him see me start slowing down now, then I won't get to go look at the boarders. She kept looking for any signs that they would be reaching camp soon. All she wanted to do was curl up in a warm nest, with a full belly and sleep for a moon. She knew she couldn't do that though. She would just have to get use to being tired. Warriors did more then she did every day. If she ever hoped of becoming one. Then she needed to keep pushing herself harder.

With the wind from starclan on their pelts, the slow walk back from the training grounds had begun. Truthfully, if it was just him and the two rabbits, the leader would have no problem in taking the back to the camp at a pace that almost trippled what they were doing now- But that wouldn't help anyone. Oakstar held his rabbit, not letting it touch the ground, and watched his apprentice out of the corner of his eye. She needed to get used to this. They would be running two if not three times this a day in the training he would have for her in the days coming. With Dewpaw only being his second apprentice he was going to make sure that each lesson that she was taught was perfect in rhyme and reason.
A small chuckle escaped from his lips as the kitten tried to speak with the rabbit as long as herself in her mouth. The mumbling got louder and louder- until the she-cat gave up and placed the creature on the ground and looked up to him. His heart melted slightly at the sweet thought of giving her first kill to her elders. That was exactly the thing that he would have done at her age- maybe she was more like him than he once assumed. "Maybe you should give it to all of the elders. They couldn't eat that by themselves. Starclan takes their appitite after moons al resting." The clan was getting closer. It was just over a few more hills. The only thing that gave it away was the smell of windclan. "Now." He murmured sitting down, placing the rabbit at his feet. "Your next test is to find the camp. From here it should be easy. I will be following you." He stepped in behind the orange feline and picked his prey up once more. "Lead on."
