Brinestep is an ample pale red tabby with a soft clean coat, from many moons of washing. The pale red falls in almost graceful stripes that run horizontally across her back. The lighter gentle cream that slithers its way between the ginger caresses her stomach and the inside of her leg, The outside is a mix of the two colors. She has normal sized ears, but her hearing is starting to fail due to age. Her weight is a smidge under what it needs to be but there isn’t anyone that can tell. Her legs are muscled and proportional to her old cat body. Her shoulders are thicker than normal she-cats; from the moons when she used to fight with her clan, and her left hind leg has a slight limp. The amber orbs, placed right above her light pink nose, are keen despite her age and always has a regal aura about them unless cast upon kits where she then holds a much gentler, caring one. Her claws are long and talon shaped though the paws that carry them have the same ginger appearance that her darker stripes hold. Her whiskers are long and white and curl gently at the edges.Personality:
Brinestep is growing old. As she does the more and more she wants to sit with her fellow elders and talk of the moons before when they were kits and everything was simple and exciting. When the clan is caught in a whirlwind fight between any of the other clans, Brinestep is the cat who will fight to the death for her clan. Though she would fight, her heart is with the kits. Protecting them is at the top of her list of priorities. When leafbare comes, her joints ache and she become irritable with the apprentices, especially the ones who tend to be ungrateful to their elders. More and more she now becomes quick witted and stealthy and her inelegance grows stronger each day. She doesn’t believe in the healing powers of the medicine cats, and doesn’t allow them to touch her or feed her any of the herbs. She has a hidden loathing to the queens of her camp, and thinks that kittypets shouldn’t be allowed in clans. The kits in the clan always hold a special place in her heart, with the warriors followed closely behind. She is faithful to her leader and will listen to what he/she tells her to do. She is obedient, all the way. She will follow her leader to the death, if that’s what she was told to do.History:
Brinestep’s parents were Pebbleface and Whitenose. Both of her parents died of old age once she turned into a warrior. It was a dream of hers for her parents to see her become a warrior, and Marble was very happy that they did. Her only brother died of a coughing fit, when they were very young. The medicine cat was the only one that could save him, and they failed miserably. From then, that one accident on spawned her complete disbelief of medicine cats and their powers. As an apprentice Brinestep humbly did the slight tedious tasks of taking care of the elders. Though she didn’t have to do it often, the times she did, Brinestep was overjoyed to listen to the tales of the older cats, thinking that she would never end up like that. Brinestep never found a mate. Though her heart craved one, she could never find a mate suitable for her. So she continued to train herself, at the pitch black darkness of the night to train herself to fill the gap that she didn’t have. Years went by, and Brinestep filled her mind that maybe if she trained hard enough she could make her way to the leader spot. Twenty moons back, there was a territory fight that Brinestep was picked to fight through. She was paired up with a scrappy warrior with a horrible overbite. Marble thought she was winning, for most of the fight she had the underweight cat on her back. When out of the blue the large mate to the cat sank his teeth into her hind paw, picking her up and throwing her off his mate. That was the last time that she ever fought. She was spun into a choice between her beliefs and ever walking normally again. In the end, Brinestep refused the healing, and that was the only time in her long cat life that she ever defied her leader. That was when she was demoted from an actual warrior to one of the warriors that catch the food for the clan. After a few moons her speed had fled from her, and she was too loud with her steps to hunt. It was then that she was put in the Elders den. It took a while for her to actually agree with the decision, but in the end she loved the company. Though she never accomplished her dream, due to the one scrap that left her hind leg slightly torn, she still feels accomplished with her life.
