A shiver woke up this leader from the cold and she looked outside and saw yet more snow. "Must of snowed over night.." she mewed to herself. She got up and gave a good shake and padded to the enternace of her den.
She looked around and saw that the clan was wuiet and not a cat was to be seen. She made a little face but she didnt want to bother about it at all. It was leaf bare and her clan was doing what they could in order to stay alive.
She took in a deep breath and trudged into the snow. She then jumped up onto a little hill of snow and called out, "Who will like to join me on a morning patrol?" She then waited and gave a yawn. She looked out of the camp and noticed that the clan were peaceful.. for now. Her stomach growled and she knew her clan always came first before herself. She looked up at the sky and saw it was cloudy. Please starclan, no more snow! she prayed. She then turned her attention back to her clan and if no cat wanted to come with her she would just tell cats to go or she would do it herself. Either way, she just wanted a patrol.

The little dark gray tabby she-cat padded through the opening in the apprentice's den, shaking loose bits of moss from her fur. Her olive green eyes were bright and alert for it being so early in the morning but she was already wide awake and ready to go. She looked around camp eagerly, hoping someone would be up so she could get out of camp and do something.
Her tiny white paws fell silently on the snow covered ground and she gazed at the white substance curiously. She had never seen snow before, save perhaps as a very young kit and she didn't remember it, and she found the substance strange. It looked soft but when she touched it it was very cold, it also seemed fairly solid but her paws sunk into it just a little bit, leaving small pawprints behind as she padded through camp.
Finally she saw what she was looking for, another cat awake and roaming around camp. Upon taking a better look she realized it was Halostar and she wondered what she was doing up so early. With tail held high and ears pricked forward she padded up to her leader, a small spring in her step. "Hi Halostar. Whatcha doing?" Her voice was odd sounding, her words accented in strange places. It wasn't her fault she didn't know what they were supposed to sound like, for Silentpaw lived in a world void of sound.

Halostar blinked seeing a ball of fur come out from the apprentices den. Silentpaw. She let her eyes lock on the apprentice and watched as she came up to her. She looked down at Silentpaw and mewed, "I was actually getting a patrol ready for the morning. The other clans have been very quiet and I cant be too careful. Sometimes too quiet isnt good."
Her eyes gave a sparkle and and she hasked, "What are you doing up so early, you have a little bit more time to sleep you know that right?"

Silentpaw watched her leader carefully as she spoke, reading her words. It had taken her awhile to be able to read what others said but with a lot of practice as long as she was looking at the cat speaking she could keep up with the conversation though she couldn't hear it. "Can I come too? Please." It would be exciting to go out on a patrol. She loved to get out of camp and explore the forest, but she wasn't allowed to leave on her own. She always had to have another cat go with her, which wasn't always easy to come by.
She continued to watch Halostar, her dark green eyes never straying from the older she-cat's face. "Well, I couldn't sleep anymore and I didn't want to bother anyone. So I got up to see what I could do."

Halostar looked at the apprentice and gave a slow blink and then looked around the camp for a while. She let her gaze come back down to the young apprentice and mewed, "Of course you can come with."
She gave a smile and nodded when Silentpaw told her she couldnt sleep anymore. Welcome to my world. she thought.

Her tail flicked happily and she let out a quiet purr. "Thank you." She then sat down, her little tail curling over her paws. Her eyes flicked around camp, looking for any sign of movement at all. But everything was still, no cat stirred besides her and Halostar. The tip of her tail twitched with slight impatience. "So when do we leave?"

Halostars eyes trailed off the apprentice and also looked around the camp. SHe gave a little growl seeing no other cat would want to come along with them.
"Now.." she softly growled. She then turned around and padded out of her camp hoping with the apprentice following right behind her.

She looked at her leader in confusion for a moment, she seemed upset about something and Silentpaw wasn't sure what she could do to help. Still, she followed Halostar out of camp, her small paws quiet on the frosty ground.
Her eyes constantly moved around, taking in everything around her and looking for any trouble. Her nose twitched as she sniffed the air, though she caught no unfamiliar scents. Despite being without hearing she wasn't completely useless on patrols, her other sense were heightened greatly because of her deafness and she was able to catch some things much earlier then her companions because of this.

Halostar kept her eyes and ears forward as she padded through the deep snow. She could hear Silentpaw behind her and checked back on her every now and then making sure she was okay. Halostar knew she was a strong apprentice but she just wanted to be careful.
She then stopped and listened. Nothing. She was planning on catching one thing before she hit border patrol but nothing was out.
She then padded further and finally hit one of the borders. She gave a sniff and found it was okay. Her ear flickered and she looked over the border still trying to figure out if anything would be going wrong. She let out a breath and stood where she was.

Silentpaw quietly followed her leader, sniffing the air almost constantly, checking for scents that even Halostar couldn't catch. Her eyes flicked around, taking in the land around her. It really was a pretty site, with all the snow fresh and untouched.
Her paws barely touched the cold ground as she moved, faint pawprints leaving a trail behind her. Her attention was elsewhere as her leader stopped, and not being able to hear her she crashed into the still cat. "Sorry," she mumbled. Her ears flicked a little bit as she grew annoyed with herself for her mistake.
Taking a deep breath she stared across the border, wondering what Halostar was looking for. She thought she smelled something, but she wasn't sure what it was. Keeping her eyes on her leader, she looked for the slightest hint of what she was to do next.
