Light pawsteps stepped on the sandy ground. She looked across the water and couldnt help but love the sound of the beach. A cool breeze blew past her and she toon in the sweet sent of the salt water. She then stopped along the beach and took in everything. Everything was going to change now. She was leader and now had a clan to lead. She looked up to the sky at Starclan and hoped that they made the right decision on making her leader. She saw a bird fly over head and she let her gaze drop back down to the water. Standing alone on the beach she in a way didnt want to go back to her clan. Her glassy eyes then looked behind her seeing her leave her paw prints in the sand. She then turned her head around and started to walk again only slowler this time.

The sand felt good to the young apprentice after the long run on the forests hard ground. He always loved the beach it was always so quite. The only thing you could hear was the waves crashing against the beach. He stopped when he head the paw steps of another cat. He looked around and saw that it was his new leader Halostar. He was surprised what was his leader doing all the way out here. Wanderingpaw being the nosy apprentice he is. Decided to go see what his leader was up to, "Hi Halostar" he meowed in a tiny high pitch voice. His black fur was sining in the sun showing of its brown highlights. He suddenly began to wonder if his leader wouldn't mind him talking to her.

The young leader turned her head to see a blakc and brown apprentice bouncing to her. Wanderingpaw. She could help but smile. She waited for him to come up to her and she didnt mind the company at all. She liked having someoen to talk to every now and then. "Hello Wanderiing paw, what bring you out here my dear?" she asked in a motherly tone. She always had a mother side to her. Its what made her caring and protective. She kept an eye on the young tom to make sure he was ok and the happy bouncy apprentice he seemed to be. She then stopped walking and looked out into the water. She then padded over to the water and felt the cool water hit her paws. She didnt go far into the water but loved feeling of the water lapping up against her paws and making them sink into the ground. She looked back at the apprentice and purred, "Wanderingpaw come here, you need to try this." She then looked back out over the lake and took in the sweet salty air.

Her dark ginger and black fur was like a shadow in the shade of the trees. She watched as her younger half-brother spoke with their leader, Halostar. From where she was sitting she couldn't hear what they were saying but it seemed harmless enough. She stood in one graceful movement, giving herself a shake before stepping forward into the light of the day. Her fur gleamed bright, the dark points of black in it standing out against the bright fiery color that made up most of her coloration.
Running forward, her paws fell in an even step, a slow step though she covered much ground. It was like she was gliding above the ground, her paws barely touching down before lifting away from it. She stopped, a perfect movement, no skidding across the ground, nothing. She just stopped before her leader and brother. She gave a nod to Halostar before addressing her troublemaking brother. "I hope you aren't bugging her Wanderingpaw." Burningember's tone was soft, yet disapproving. Her soft eyes locked their amber gaze upon her half-brother, waiting for his answer.

"I was just coming out here to explore." Wanderingpaw meowed looking down at the sand. He walked up to his leader and let his paws sink into the sand as well. He watched his leader looking out over the lake. The more he got to know this leader the more he was liking her. He turned around as he heard a cat come walking up from behind them. It was only his half-sister Burningember. "I'm not bugging her," he meowed in a grumpy tone. He looked back over to his leader hoping she would agree with him. "At least I don't think I am bugging her." He meowed looking back over at his sister. Wanderingpaw didn't think he was doing anything wrong by going and talking to his leader. Maybe he wasn't meant to though. By the looks of things his sister looked like she was getting angry with him for talking to Halostar. I didn't want to get into trouble I just wanted to know what Halostar was doing. He sighed sometimes he never knew what he could do not to get into anymore trouble.

Halostar gave a purr and then also turned around seeing Burningember. She tilted her head a bit seeing she was worried if the young apprentice was bugging her. She gave a little laugh and mewed, "He is just fine Burningember." She looked down at the apprentice and then back at the warrior.
"All apprentices are curious and always want to figure out whats going on why cats do what they do and hes doing just fine." she purred. She then let the tip of her tail bounce off the apprentices head and then back up at the warrior. "You want to come join us burningember?" she asked in a sweet tone.

Burningember let out a sigh of relief when she heard Wanderingpaw wasn't bugging anyone. She flicked her tail across his ears affectionately, happy that he wasn't getting into trouble for once. "Well that's a relief. He's always sticking his nose where it doesn't belong." She shot the apprentice a sharp look. Whether he knew it or not, she knew that he didn't usually do what he was supposed to. Like today, for example, he should have been with the other apprentices training. But he was here instead. She tilted her head in the direction of her leader, letting her focus fall off her half-brother and onto Halostar. "Well, if you want me too then I'd be happy to join you."

Halostar gave a sweet smile then looked down at the apprentice and could help but give a little laugh. She then did have to agree with Burningember that he should be with the other apprentices training yet she knew when she was an apprentice she didnt want to go train on days like these and just wanted to go out and play.
"Of course I would like for you to join. You warriors ever just relax and fell the world around you?" She asked closing her eyes and letting the sounds of the water relax her and feeling her muscles relax.

Burningember let out a slight purr. "To be honest I'm to busy worrying about this one," she nodded in Wanderingpaw's direction, "To have time to relax. Unless of course he is right next to me."
She shook her head. Most cats thought she was overprotective but she had seen the trouble her half-brother could get into and how, on more then one occasion, almost or did get hurt. Someone had to look after him but since he didn't have a mentor yet there was no one but herself to do the job.

Wanderingpaw looked up at his leader as she talked to Burningember. When is she going to give me a mentor he thought. Does she not think I am ready for one? He sighed and looked out over the lake. The waves gently crashed on the beach. The dark blue water seemed so peaceful. "Hey Halostar I have a question." Wanderingpaw said still looking out over the lake.
"Maybe Burningember could be my mentor." He looked over at his half-sister hoping she wouldn't be mad at him. She really cared for him and treated him better then any other warriors did. "I know she is my half-sister, but I learn so much when I am with her." I don't see how I could be trained by any other cat. He thought as he waited for his leaders answer.

Halostar nodded to burningeber and gave a laugh. They seemed very close. Closer then she rembered. A cool breeze blew past her and she couldnt remember the last time she got close with another cat, yet she did, her mate that passed away in the war. She slowly looked out onto the lake and fell silent. She then looked down at the apprentice whn he wanted burningember to be his mentor.
She turned her head to lok at the warrior then back at the tom. She flickered her ear and thought about it. Hedoes need a mentor, and seeing he does learn well with her, they are very close and she does care about him..
She looked then to Burningember and mewed, "We will have the cerimonie tonight if you wish Burningember."

Her eyes brightened with excitement. "Do you really mean it?" She paused catching herself. "I mean, that would be fine, I would be happy to take him on as my apprentice."
Her ears flicked happily and she cuffed Wanderingpaw over the ear gently. "You better pay attention mister, cuz I won't put up with you messing around." She tried to sound stern but all she felt was pride, both for her and her half-brother. In all honesty she couldn't wait to begin training him.

Wanderingpaw jumped for join, his half-sister was going to be his mentor. He couldn't wait for the ceremony. He growled playfully as Burningember cuffed him. "I won't mess around, I promise." Wanderingpaw said as he sat up a little taller. He was proud that a strong cat like Burningember was going to be his mentor. For moons he had always looked up to the she-cat.
Always watching her trying to be a good warrior like she was. And know tonight he was going to become her mentor. He looked over at Burningember. I wonder if she is just as excited as I am. The tom suddenly began to worry. I hope she is ok being my mentor. After all I never really asked her if she wanted to be my mentor.

Halostar didnt have any expression on her face but watched how happy the two cats were. She forgot all about the water hitting her paws and took her eyes off of the cats and back onto the water. While they were playing she quietly stepped away from them both and started walking down the beach slowly and lost in thought.
She let the warm sand sink through her paws and blocked out every sound she could. It was a long time since she was an apprentice. Now she had to give a cerimonie. This would be her first one for being leader. She looked up tothe aky and gave a blink. She let out a sigh and looked back down slowly and padded on down the beach.
