Oakstar wandered around camp in the dead of night. There was something up. There wasn't a sound coming from the dens, not even a peep from the queens den, and he knew that there were brand new kits just born, so there had to be sound coming from them. Twitching his ears forward he walked slowly into the den, and to his surprise- they were all gone. Nothing was left save a few small pieces of moss that were scattered gently around the surrounding area. Blinking his big soft eyes he sniffed the ground, smelling the windclan smell- rabits twined with the cool air, and that was it. No distinct cat smell, just the smell of- them.
He slowly backed out of the den and walked to the middle of the clearing. The sky was a dark blue and purple, and there wasn't a star shown in the dim lit sky. He waited for the sound of the small animals scuring around the surrounding area, or the sound of any breathing of any of his clan mates but it never came. The only sound that came was the sound of his small footsteps against the ground. Currious, he walked to the apprentice den to find the strange abnormal smell, and none of the cats. His nose twitched slightly, the worry in his oace seemed to spike as he ran to the warriors den, and the cats had all seemed to dissapear.
With the speed of a windclan cat, he hurried out of camp to see the fields, the moors that he grew up in ravaged by the flames. Fire hit every blade of grass as he turned searching for a way out. Inevitably the flames consumed the grass around him and his heart shook, but his face was calm and placid. Taking a deep breath for his heart. He jumped , burning his tabby fur and landing in something soft, way to soft to be the ground. Oakstar looked down to see the cats of his clan at his feet.
His facade broke and he yowled in terror jumping up from his sleeping position. The sounds of the animals and the sounds of the cats breathing entered the air once more. His eyes went wide as he walked into the clearing and saw the stars brightly in the sky. Starclan sent him a warning, and it wasn't pretty. He sat at the stump in front of the clan- where he normaly spoke to his clan- and took a deep breath. His clan was safe- for now.

Beastfang had suspicions of so much now, not sure what was what anymore. She felt some time of betrayal, yet one she herself could not understand. She had mixed feelings for everything now, and had no insight to search for. Perhaps it wasn't, however, betrayal she felt. Maybe it was exactly suspicion, maybe she felt something she didn't want to. Beastfang felt danger, yes, that was it.
Perhaps still not spot on, but Beastfang knew something was wrong, not only wrong, but grave. Yes, grave... And, grave always refereed to her clan leader, her clan. Beastfang shot her head up, and ran out of the warriors den, just in time to hear the yelp of her Leader, Oakstar.
She, without his permission, shot into his den. She skidded to a stop, right before him, her green eyes worrying. Oakstar! what's wrong? What happened? Beastfang rushes, searching his eyes. [/blockquote]

Even though the noises of the night had returned, the fear in the toms body pulsed and quivered down his spine in convulsions that shook him to the core. What was Starclan trying to tell him? Was something going to happen to his clan? Was the fire that burned the fields going to burn him? Now? Soon? Or were they going to be attacked by another clan? The thought of Shadowclan attacking was always in the back of his mind. Waiting to come out. He had plans. Safe exits for every cat in his clan if that ever happened, but he wasn't going to give up without a fight. Fleeing wasn't an option.
Oakstar took a deep breath, letting his forest shaded orbs scan his den once more before his deputy scrambled into the room. He quickly composed himself and showed nothing on his face as the tabby looked up at him with worried eyes mumbling in hurrid sucession so that he had to lean in to catch the words. "Everything is fine- I'm not hurt." The she-cats words made him think though. If she heard him yelp- who else did? "The true question is, What are you doing barging into my den?" She hadn't been a deputy long- but Oakstar saw something in the cat that made him choose her. Now he was thinking twice.
After a moment he changed the subject, trying to hide all his fears for a while, until he understood what was going on. No need to worry the clan with any unneeded infromationf, right? "How is the clan? Are they all asleep?" He was wide awake now, ther was no way he was going to get back to sleep. If anything he might go hunt, or talk to his medicine cat. But he needed to know what this dream ment. "Safe and warm?" he added.

Beastfang watched her leader, with intense eyes. She shook herself, glad to hear him safe. But, Beastfang knew better than that. Something was indeed eating away at him, selfish and hidden. Beastfang, hardened her glare, and then softened it at his question. I heard you gasp, and I felt something was wrong, I only wanted to make sure you were okay, Oakstar. And, I am relived to see you well. Beastfang whispered the last words, then looked at the ground for a few moments, gathering words.
Part of my duty is being able to protect the Clan, yes? And, no what's best for everyone, as do you. Well, I see through you. Beastfang explained, her eyes looking into Oakstar, expecting some smart reply. Because, something was wrong, even if he didn't want to show it. She knew much better.
Oakstar had a horrible way of hiding things, and Beastfang only shook her head an sighed. The Clan is sleeping, the sun is just coming up. Safe and sound. Promise. Beastfang looked out the entrance of the den, and stiffled another sigh. She wanted to know what was going on. And she intended to find out.
She stood to her paws, and glared at Oakstar, preparing reasoning. Oakstar, what was the dream about? Tell me, I can help. We could go somewhere, maybe to the Moonstone, I can watch camp... Whatever is wrong with that dream, you need to tell me. Beastfang urged, her eyes narrowing with something that made her want to help him, to tell him everything's okay. [/size]

Oakstar paced back and forth as the young cat explained to him why she entered his den and her words fell and he had to perk his ears to her so he could understand. "Well thank you for checking on me, but i'm fine." Oakstar worked with his pelt, stopping at the cats next words, frezing him to his core, " I don't know what your mother tought you, but you aren't acting like a deputy. You need to respect what i say." he stands looking at the cat. Was he really that easy to read? he hopped not.
"As long as the clan is safe now, that is all that matters." He walks out of the den, hoping that Beastfang would follow him. "I don't need to tell you anything." He sat, wrapping his tail around his paws, "Just wait, and in time you will know." He closed his eyes and prayed to star clan that nothing like that would happen to his clan. He didn't need that. Not now.

Beastfang look shocked at her Leader, and then felt a sense of guilt. She didn't like how she was being talked to, but she ignored it. She knew he mustn't have liked her way of speech as well. She shook herself, trying to relive her thoughts. Please excuse me, I am sorry for talking that way. And, all I am saying is that I am taking not only the Clan's safety in mind, but yours. Beastfang whispered. She felt strength from StarClan guide her through her words, and she stood tall and proud.
She smiled, and looked at Oakstar with eyes of guilt, and surprise, loss and hurt. If you must know, Oakstar, my parents abandoned me, long ago. Sorry, but it's the truth... And... It still hurts, that feeling... then, she glanced at him, sheepish, and eyes hard. She was deputy, perhaps a young one, but she wouldn't let that bother her.
With a leader like you, I'm sure the Clan will be okay, but is it not my responsibility to protect them as well? All I'm asking now, is please just tell me... At least then I can look for the omens, you know. Beastfang whispered, looking at her paws, sitting down. And I to can watch over them[/color
