Ametrinekit[/color][/i] Ametrinekit giggled softly and grinned maliciously before bounding away from her brother. Clovekit had made a swipe at her but she had easily avoided him. Now she swipes her bushy tail against his muzzle, before turning back to gaze at him momentarily. “You missed, darling” she mewed tauntingly. Her sharp white teeth were revealed in the careful grin she displayed. She turned around again ignoring her brother and glancing from side to side. Her ears swiveled to pick up the noises around her. Taking one last glance back towards the nursery she was just in time to see the tip of Clovekit’s tail disappear into the den. One more quick glance around the camp and she was off, her small paws pounding against the hard stone surface.
She made her way toward the Sunningrocks, on the edge of the camp. It was a bit too early for any elders to be there quite yet. She headed that way because she didn’t expect anyone to be there and wanted somewhere it was quiet, where she could be alone. It wasn’t far to the calm warm rocks. She stopped a moment and reveled in her freedom, or at least what she considered freedom. Ametrinekit was a little bit in awe of how easy it had been for her to escape. Not even her brother had noticed, and a good thing at that. Happily she jumped on top of one of the warm rocks most often used for sunning. Since it was still early in the morning the sun hadn’t warmed them up completely and they were still a bit cold as a result.
Relaxing the slight tension in her small body she had held all morning; she scraped her claws against the stone. It was slightly cloudy, but the sun gleamed through in gentle rays. A slight breeze picked up ruffling Ametrinekit’s long fur. She shivered slightly huddling in on herself and closing her eyes momentarily. The cold passed and the she-kit straightened up. She leaned against the semi-warm stone wish it would provide more heat. She was starting to get a bit anxious and nervous. She hadn’t really technically been out of the camp yet. After all she was only three moons old.
This was quickly forgotten as her sharp eye spotted something beyond the rocks. She wasn’t sure exactly what it was so she inched closer, moving upward on the rocks. It was now her full focus and she wasn’t paying attention to anything else. Not able to resist the kitten instinct of going after anything that moved, Ametrinekit continued upward.
Then in an instant she was suddenly tumbling head over paws. She rolled to a stop on the dusty ground, and looked back to the edge she had fallen over. The she-kit had simply stepped off ended up in a rumbled heap on the ground below. She got to her paws slowly shaking off the dust that now coated her long fur. She froze as she heard a sound behind her, not exactly sure what it was. Her ears flicked back and forth trying to determine the source of it. She crouched down and peered around the rock, grey eyes darting back and forth nervously.

Dawn. The time of morning that cats, especially Blazestorm, enjoyed for the quiet sense of nature and the calming wind that starclan graciously swept across the rocks, the trees, the grass, across every pelt in their clan. Time was abundant, and it wasn't to jettsam. Everything given to them was to be harbored and not tossed like a jejune kittypet with their prison twinkling with the sound of contempt breaking the tranquil lull of the morning. There was a place where the kittypets were counterparts to the majestic cats- but it wasn't here. No, here they were gazed at in awestruck abhorance. The thought of her leader being akin to the cats whom sit with the two-legs and eat of the food which does not run made her pelt crawl. Blazepelt let her emarald green orbs trace the land as if her eyes were the brush, and the territory her canvace. She swept with long strokes, then short qick movements which could only be described as jabs painting a picture with her emotions and her posture.
Cloudstar sent her out, into the dusk, to mirror the shadows, and keep watch over their territory. She had pawed at the ground in annoyance but kept her tongue still. The thought of the nighttime quest wasn't the issue. The chalange of the request was that she had to be led by a cat unclanborn. Blazestorm is a clan born cat, and any true clan born cat, wouldn't allow such a horrific thing to happen to their home. Untrue ones, as she clearly named the kitty-pets, werenot fit to live a clan life, no matter how convincing of an act they played. They are actors on a stage in a play that never ends. Convivial would be the last thing she would ever be with them.
Now, at this point in time, dawn had just past, and the sun smiled upon all the territories waking up the little prey that would soon be under her claws, their bodies twisted in grotesque ways that only shadowclan would have the heart to enjoy. Soon they would be hers. Soon, the clan would eat. Her finely tipped nails unsheathed and dug into the bark of the branch she perched upon. Blazestorm stared at the sparow sitting in the tree ajacent form hers. One fleetly placed kick on the tree would parachute the feline atop the birds small frame. It moved. The bird. Moved with apace placing it's mini head under the feathered wing. The act was now- it had to be done. She jumped, landing with extreme acuracy upon the flustered bird, screaming in its ways for help, screaming to be let free. The wings beat against her flank sending dust and loose bark from the branch into the air. "Soon you will ne free littleone. " Without a second look, Blazestorm broke the neck biting into the spineand flicking her head to the left. The body went limp under her and the apealing tase of blood bubbled to her lips. she couldn't eat it- no- but every part of her body told her too.
With the bird in her mouth, she jumped from branch to brance, landing lissomly to the ground, feathers from the dead bird scattered at the base of the oak. "I'll be back for you" She murmured to the sparrow, hidding it so she could come get it later, "I won't forget you" There was one last place she had to patrol, and she didn't want the animal to be in the way if any agressive action needed to be taken. Leaning back on her haunches she launched herself like a rocket through the undergrowth- like a commet through the night sky. She was a forest fire unable to be tamed as she ran, hard. Sunning rocks was just up the hill, Blazestorm would be there and back in an instant, then she could rest. The foot fall of the graceful cat ceased falling upon the forest floor and now touched the gray smooth texture of the rocks that the elders called home. Putting her maw into the air she collected the scents, checking, double checking, tripple checking. Nothing. Good.
Blazestorm sat for a time, gently wrapping her tail around her body like a snake would do it's prey and she cleaned her pelt. Slowly and precicely she stroked her ginger fur with her barbed like togue, making sure nothing from the tree, or the undergroth grasped on. Nothing was worse than a coat of barbs. Then it hit her, the smell of another cat, a young- neive one at that, judging by the sound of their footfall. With a second to spare, she jumped off the rock, and slid behind a few rocks away. Whatever this cat wanted, they were going to explain.
Shock coursed through her body when two things flowed into her mind. Blazestorm saw the little she-cat jump onto the rock that she herself was just perched upon, then the smell of Skyclan rolled off her in waves so strong that she was surprised the smell hadn't come to her before. What was this kit doing out here?! Was she completely mousebrained? She walked, trying to make a silent step to get behind the kit, and treaded upon a stick, her weight racking the small twig. Blazestorm stoped, her muscles tensed as the kitten looked in her direction. Could she see her? The older cat doubted it as she trembled to the top of the rock and then rolled down. That was her chance, and she took it.
Bolting only like the lightning in the raining sky, she zipped behind the cat and then stopped a small tree length away. "We'll let you hear me come upon you, then you can explain." Slowly, but proudly, the cat walked upon the kit taking deleberate steps to allert the kitten. Blazestorm counted, One two three, and she was upon the kitten, its eyes wide in schock. "Amertrinekit." Purring out the name she stepped into the clearing, her head high looking upon the kit, "Does your mother know you are out here? Because i assume not." She padded closer, "You realize how dangerous it is out here no? Don't wanna get yourself hurt. " She kept her eyes on the kit. The only thing moving on her graceful body was the firelike pelt, swishing lightly in the wind.

Ametrinekit Gray eyes went wide as Ametrinekit spun around. She was faced with what looked for a moment like fire. Tensing up slightly and beginning to tremble with fear, a small squeak of feat escaped her. Then the hallucinations went away and her breathe went out in relief as she realized that it was simply Blazestorm, one of her clanmates. In the next instant dark brown ears were laid back in anger. She glared at the older warrior and gave a small hiss of displeasure. Cursing at her ill luck the she-kit stepped closer to Blazestorm. She flicked her tail nervously knowing that she would be in trouble now for sure. Ametrinekit matched the warriors gaze, quickly rummaging for a good answer to any of her questions. There was no doubt that the cat recognized her. So lying was most likely out of the picture, perhaps a clever response would do more for her case. So straightening up and returning her ears to their normal position, she smiled sweetly at Blazestorm.
Her mew was sweet and the tone like honey “No, my mother doesn’t know I’m out here. It isn’t that far from camp though.”She tilted her head slightly praying that if she used reason than maybe the anger directed at her wouldn’t be so great. “ It can’t be that dangerous either” she continued. “after all it is only sunningrocks. The elders are out here all the time.” She was frantically planning a way to escape, unfortunately it wouldn’t really matter whether she did or not. Blazestorm wasn’t likely to just let her go without telling any cat at all. Ametrinekit was starting to become nervous again dreading what punishment awaited her for leaving the camp. Her heart sunk at the thought and she hung her head.
“I suppose your right Blazestorm” her voice was quiet and subdued, having lost all its former boldness and confidence. “I’m sorry. I just wanted to explore a little.” Ametrine risked a careful glance up at the warrior. Feline body now hunched in shame and tail dropping. Any thought of escape was now completely forgotten. She had accepted the fact that what she had done was reckless and dangerous, and knew whatever was coming she surely deserved. “Did you see what happened?” she questioned tentatively but then continued without waiting for a reply. “I didn’t mean to fall off the rock…. There was…something, and I just wanted to get a closer look and I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going.” A slight pause “ I should have been more careful.”
With that she settled down gently on her haunches giving one of the scratches a careful lick. Her light brown pelt still had a thin layer of dust still coating it and as she flicked her ear at a slight itch some of it was displaced. She sat still, waiting for Blazestorm’s verdict. She assumed her adventure was over now, at the very least she would be escorted back to the camp…so much for getting out of it.

AmetrinekitFrowning in concentration and furrowing her brow, the small she kit kept her eyes trained on the ground. The older warrior was obviously angry, and of course had reason to be. Ametrinekit could feel the waves of anger coming from her pelt; it scorched, just as the warriors name suggested. Despite this the kitten stood her ground, unfaltering, knowing it would do her no good to back down now. She never had been very submissive and surely wasn’t going to start being a push over now. For a moment she wished her brother Clovekit was here, he would have known what to do. Always able to win other cats over with his friendly and welcoming personality, he never faltered. It was a wonder the tom didn’t simply get along with everyone.
Previously Ametrine kit had been listening to everything Blazestorm uttered, though you might not have been able to tell. She could be a little deceitful at times and was difficult to read. Her tail twitched lightly against the ground. She was still seated on her haunches and had no intention of moving from that position for a while yet. Ametrinekit didn’t really enjoy other telling her what to do, so disobedience was a norm. Sadly that is the way that most kits were. She especially didn’t like when others got angry at her, often it brought out her own to match the opposing cat’s. It was a vicious cycle with a carefully balanced scale. Her own emotions and actions constituting the weight. If one emotion was displayed too vehemently, or if she ever felt threatened it was bound to tip. Which in this kits case was never a good thing, for it was then that things became very fickle and unpredictable.
She had sat through the older cats lecture, with few interruptions, answering only the questions she deemed worthy. Giving most of her attention to exactly how she should respond, apparently not adequate though. Pondering this and tilting her head ever so slightly ametrinekit almost looked back at Blazestorm, but at the last moment decided not to. Gray orbs with a slight violet tinge stayed glued on the ground unmoving. There was no doubt that the kit was a clever one, but whether or not she was clever enough to do the right thing in this situation was the real question. Her ears flicked in a minor response to Blazestorms words, indicating that she was still listening.
She started paying a bit more attention when the warrior mentioned something about adders. There were adders here? Really? Ametrinekit didn’t know that before now. A dark somber light was cast over the kits persona. For now she truly realized that what she had done was indeed very dangerous and was as reckless and irresponsible. Her gray eyes went unfocused and she was lost in her thoughts for several moments. Real fear was penetrating her system. Intuition told her that there was probably no way she would make it make to camp safely. She was suddenly glad that Blazestorm had found her, even at the expensive of the great anger directed at her.
Finally she came back to herself, starting a bit and shaking her head trying to clear it. She returned her attention to the lecture, listening to every word the older cat said carefully. The warrior was getting continually madder, not even feeling sympathy when Ametrinekit acquiesced and apologized for her actions. It was no use, and the young cat was not used to this behavior. It was a mystery to her and she was still unsure how to respond. Though the anger was fully deserved she couldn’t quite comprehend that fully. She was at an absolute loss at what to do, all her fear was lost in amazement and confusion. Ametrine kit was also able to realize her folly in being so distracted by the noise. Could it really have been an adder? She wondered to herself. It hadn’t sounded like one, but she shrugged it off. Why would Blazestorm tell her it was if it couldn’t have been? Surely the warrior would never lie to a kit, especially about as something as simple as this. So it was quickly forgetten, or at least mostly, the kit seeing no further need to ponder about it.
The she-cat at last returned her eyes and perhaps full attention to Blazestorm. They were swimming with questions and filled with confusion, no longer looking for sympathy. She knew she had done wrong, and understood what the warrior had said about the older cats knowing more than she did. Nodding her head slowly in agreement, she knew that she would no longer explore unless meeting the conditions that the fire-pelted she cat had set forth. It was useless and absolutely pointless to argue so the kit simply held her tongue.
Several moments later Ametrinekit’s jaw nearly dropped open in surprise and amazement. The warrior was asking her what they should do! She wondered if this meant that she would decide her own fate, though she highly doubted it. So taking a deep breathe and centering herself, she stared up at Blazestorm meowing quietly and sullenly “What are you to do with me?” it was a question, or repetition of one because of her absolute confusion. Then in a quiet whisper barely loud enough to hear “ I suppose whatever you want” it came out a bit squeaky and hard to understand. Rising up off her haunches Ametrinekit suddenly returned to a state of balance.
“ I know I’m in trouble, and that you should take me back to camp” She purred in a steady voice. “ as for my punishment…. I’m not sure. I suppose whatever you think is best” she was ready to face it with dignity. Besides she did not wish to further anger Blazestorm.

As the wind began to pick up and howl against the mountain like a wild dog on moonfull the rage that Blazestorm felt singed every part of the she-cats body. Not only did the kit walk away, but then Amertinekit had the nerve to tell the warrior that she, blazestorm, was foolish in thinking that this place could be scary at all. Not only was it detrimental to the clan to pay attention and not go out alone- but kits that tended to scamper on their own , like birds jumping out of their warm nest before their time. They became the warriors that turn on the leader. They are the ones that are killed in battle. Blazestorm blinked twice, knowing that she wasn't the best example, being the only cat in the clan that had a severe distaste- no loathing for the white tom, but it shouldn't matter, It doesn’t matter if she likes Cloudstar or not. It was the going behind the backs of her clan that made Amertinekit's actions as bad as they were. Even worse- what if she would have gotten herself killed or hurt. Starclan would have that mothers’ neck at the talons of an eagle.
Sure- Blazestorm could admit that she was overly compulsive. If something wasn't done her way then she would redo it to suit how she wanted it done. The clan should be run a specific way to have everything in tip top condition to make sure that each link in her chain was working efficiently, and the way that she wanted. If she was the leader than the working of this camp would run much smother. This kitty pet doesn’t know what he’s doing. And he never will. Taking a deep breath her eyes wondered away from the kit for a moment. If it was her kit Amertine wouldn't have ever left her side until the kit was old enough to be mentored then they would be free. But the fire-pelted she-cat wouldn't ever have kits. She cannot stand the little quibbling that they seemed to make. How immature they were is worse than a thorn in her pad. So deep into her pad that the sharpest teeth of any cat couldn't budge the thorn jabbed into the soft flesh. It would sit there, and rub, and irritate- And rub, and irritate! Never would she have kits- in the end she would probably put the kits out of their misery. Drowning them, or leaving them to the vultures. Amertinekit better thank Starclan that she wasn't her mother- because this rebellious kitten wouldn't last long.
While she talked the kit, her eyes were plastered to the hard dirt floor. As if the dirt was talking to her. As if the dirt could save her. As if when she was going to run away that the dirt would be the thing to be her friend in any time of peril. The only thing worse than talking back- was being rude. Blazestorms reason for being so hot headed, and cold was the rude cats around her. The quick tempered cat threw her words like daggers at any thing that made its way in the wrong path. That made its way into the fire filled hurricane that cats called Blazestorm. But- it wasn't the kits fault, was it? She didn't know that she shouldn't be rude to the warrior. She didn't know that you shouldn't go out. The mother of the kits is the one to blame. Right? Wrong- but not entirely. Though the mother has most of the blame in any sence, Amertinekit is smart enough to know that any cat that makes its way out of the clan and isn't accounted for will be in serious trouble when they get back.
As soon as the words adder slipped the cats body language haulted from being rude, and simply turned into fear. Though Blazestorm couldn't see the eyes of the kit, the pelt rose slightly and every word that was spoken brought more fear into the kittens stance. That was what she needed to feel. She needed to feel the fear before she could ever realize that she wasn’t invincible that she couldn’t live through everything. No cat could ever become untouchable. A cats life wasn’t like that. Ever.
Even though the warrior gave Amertinekit all of her attention the feeling of being ignored washed over the older cat, drowning her with emotions. What was the point of her ranting to the kitten, if she wasn’t going to listen at all. Maybe she was listening, but the whole attention that she deserved wasn’t there, and she doubted it would ever be. This kit was strong willed and would always be, listening wasn’t in the little vocabulary. Feeling the dirt under her white claws she barred her sharp white fangs in annoyance. She better start paying attention, because this cat wasn’t going to get far at all with her if she sat and ignored Blazestorm.
Amertinekit looked up- her eyes wide, and her emotions swimming inside. Within those gray orbs shoved inside the little kits head, weren’t looking for a kind heart anymore. She had learned her lesson. With her firespecked pelt dancing in the weeping wind Blazestorm squared her shoulders trying to think of something to show this cat what could happen to her if she took a wrong step, or if she happened to lose the little balance that she already had. But she didn’t know what. With her green eyes tracing her paws on the ground she murmured to herself once before returning her gaze back to the kitten. ”I am going to make you learn your lesson. No matter what you think- This is no place for a kit.” her tail swished from side to side, “Never again will you leave the site of your mother, unless you want to get yourself killed, and I seriously doubt that.” Kits were crazy, but they weren’t suicidal.
Blazestorm stood and quickly cleaned her pelt, listening to the soft words of Amertinkit. “You will go back to camp-“ She paused looking out into the sky, a small sly smile came over her lips, “But you aren’t going now.” She twitched her ears side to side, making sure no other cat was around. If she was to teach this kit a lesson, she was going to make sure that no other feline was around to see it. No- she wasn’t going to harm the cat- but she wasn’t going to let this punishment get in the way of her high status in the clan. Everyone loves her, but knows to stay on her good side. “Stand up” She purred without remorse lightly walking around the kitten in a semi-circle before standing right in behind the kitten. She didn’t mean it in any way to harm, or scare the cat, but her voice came out harsh and menacing. “If you walked here, then you can still walk now. I’m going to show you something.” The howling of the wind became louder and thrashed her longfured pelt swish from side to side. She walked gracefully beside the cat and flicked her tail at her side. “Come, now”
Her eyes darted from left to right, making sure no other cat was around. The scent was clear, the sound was clear, and now since she saw nothing, she began to walk with slow careful movements in the opposite direction of the cat behind her. The furry inside the she-cat was slowly starting to subside, but each time she looked at the cat behind her the sight of the cat who had run off tore at her insides and made her growl under her breath. ”You will learn your lesson.”
With her long tail held high she had walked merely ten steps when she stopped, swiveling her head around to look at Amertinekit who hasn’t moved an inch, her eyes still cast upon the warrior. “You’d do best to listen to me. I can only make this worse, it’s never going to get any better.” She turned her head away from the kit and looked further into the dark forest of the mountain. That’s where they were going. So deep that smells couldn’t enter or escape, so deep you can’t hear the frightened mews of anything. There. ”So if you know what is good for you. Then you best come with me.
